As we were in the throes of wrapping up the plethora of holiday orders for 2009, Tamara had the wonderful opportunity to talk with MorePhotos Radio and preview her upcoming speaking engagements at Imaging USA and WPPI for 2010. We're so excited about all of our workshops, speaking engagements, charitable projects, and of course the work with our magnificent clients in 2010, and hope you'll enjoy a little preview of Tamara's take on her upcoming projects

old friends

Moira is one of my oldest friends. Our friendship goes back to Kindergarten when she brought in a pair of the coolest pink, splatter-painted crutches for show-and-tell. As the years flew by we stayed close friends, and a photo session with Moira's family was one of my first sessions. When Moira called me to see if I would do a another photo session with her sister, Courtney, her brother, Connor, and her over Thanksgiving, I was thrilled. They wanted to surprise their parents with framed pieces for Christmas. I looked forward to the session for weeks, and when the day arrived, we had a delightful session inspired by Anthropologie and fall light.
First I would like to introduce you to Moira. Isn't she stunning? |

Thank you, Courtney, Connor, and Moira for thinking of me, trusting my ideas, and for bringing such beauty to the session. I hope your parents love their gifts.
Merry Christmas! |

Little Miss Liddy came to see me with her mom and dad, and the four of us got to work to make some beautiful pictures. We quickly learned that Liddy is a natural in front of the camera, which made everything much more like play than work, and I just could not get enough of her brilliantly blue eyes and perfect cheeks.
So here you have the Hart family, arguably one of the sweetest families around....... |

aha! and now it's clear where she got that beautiful pair of eyes :)

There is something so special about the relationship between a daddy and his little girl.
|
 |
 |
And sometimes nothing's better than momma's love.
|
 |
 |
Finally we stepped outside for some shots of the whole family.

Thank you, Angie, Michael, and Liddy. I look forward to seeing you in the spring when the weather's warm and Liddy's running all over exploring! |

professional photographer magazine

Thanks to Professional Photographer Magazine for running such a cool article about my shooting style in the new December issue.
Cute title: Bring on The Scamp.
So much fun to see and read through it - and, as always, a lovely layout.
The topic dovetails nicely with the presentation I'll be giving at Imaging USA in Nashville Monday, January 11th, 2010.
(And a big thanks for the interview, friend and fellow photographer, Audrey Woulard. It was a good match, as Audrey and are I teaming up again to offer some shooting & image review instruction in Las Vegas, Audrey & Tamara: A Portrait Photographer's Workshop.) (already sold out)
So ... I love the feature, but - more than that - I'm pretty thrilled that they selected one of my very favorite images, ever, of Ana Elisa for the full-page Table of Contents section ... this image was the same one I ran with a post I wrote a few months ago, about the curious mix of this little girl who just got home late last year.
I didn't know they'd selected this one until I flipped open my issue. That was such a lovely find, I just keep going back and flipping it open to see it again & again & again and, um, again :) |
